Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) announced that Dr. D K Sunil, Chairman and Managing Director of the company, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Director (Engineering and R&D) for a further period of one month.
The decision was approved by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, as per Letter No. 49013/02/2021-D(HAL-III) dated May 7, 2025. The extension is effective from May 9, 2025, to June 8, 2025, or until a regular appointment is made, or until further orders — whichever occurs earlier.
This interim arrangement ensures continuity in HAL’s critical engineering and R&D functions amid the ongoing transition. Dr. Sunil, a veteran in India’s aerospace sector, currently leads HAL’s strategic initiatives in defence aviation and innovation.
