Gurugram: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has made the decision to rename the HUDA City Center metro station on the Yellow Line to Millennium City Center Gurugram. This announcement follows two previous name changes by the DMRC for the station. The HUDA City Center station is located in Gurugram, Haryana, which is a thriving IT and commercial hub in the National Capital Region (NCR) known as Millennium City.
Initially, the metro agency had planned to rename the station as Gurugram City Center but later decided to change it to Millennium City Center. Finally, the DMRC tweeted that the station will now be called Millennium City Center Gurugram. The process of updating all official documents, signage, announcements, and other relevant materials with the new name has already begun and will be implemented gradually.
This renaming comes more than three years after the Delhi government renamed the Pragati Maidan metro station to the Supreme Court metro station on the Blue Line. Additionally, it coincides with the recent approval by the Union Cabinet to extend the metro network from the HUDA City Center station to Cyber City in Gurugram.
