IAS Amit Sharma Urges BSNL to Deliver High-Quality Network Services in Mizoram

IAS Amit Sharma, Secretary to Government, Information & Communications Technology and Cooperation, Mizoram emphatically told state player BSNL to provision top quality network services in Mizoram during a meeting held with R.K Soni, General Manager BSNL and his team who called upon him in capital city Aizawl in his office chambers at Mizoram Secretariat for an exclusive meeting.

Amit Sharma, being ICT Secretary of Mizoram, is constantly working towards improvement of mobile connectivity in Mizoram and conducting regular meetings on the subject with various telecom players who have assured him towards improvising and reaching out to far-flung areas, located both near Myanmar and Bangladesh international borders.

ICT Secretary Mizoram Amit Sharma also advised R.K Soni and CGM BSNL, who are based out of Shillong to oversee Coproation’s operations in three states namely, Mizoram, Meghalaya and Tripura, to have a dedicated team of senior officers, to be stationed permanently here in Aizawl to have a better understanding and monitoring of its operations here, which is a much-needed demand here.

While reviewing the overall functioning of BSNL in Mizoram, Amit advised them to increase the quantity of towers and quality of signals, especially at the prominent public-usage points, such as Lengpui (Aizawl) Airport, National, State and District Highway routes, major markets, etc so that the users can have seamless experience while using the telecom services of BSNL without facing call-drop and poor network issues.

Apart from this, ICT Secretary Mizoram Amit Sharma assured the visiting BSNL team of extending all possible help to get their pending projects through, for executing in Mizoram and also told them to expedite connectivity, especially under 4G Saturation and USOF so that many unconnected villages in Mizoram can have the privilege of having mobile connectivity and largely, students, farmers and business community can get benefited with it.

Before concluding, ICT Secretary Amit Sharma told that soon, he shall hold a joint meeting of all major telcos including BSNL, Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel wherein new initiatives shall be worked out for Mizoram and a calendar of activities shall be planned for upcoming financial year.
