The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced the redesignation of senior IAS officer Dheeraj Gupta as Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary). This decision follows Mr. Gupta’s recent promotion to the Apex Scale (Level-17 in the Pay Matrix), as conveyed in an official order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
The government order, effective from December 21, 2023, formally designates Mr. Dheeraj Gupta as the Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) within the Department of Forest, Ecology & Environment. Mr. Gupta, an officer of the 1993 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) batch, hails from the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre.
The order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs highlights Gupta’s assumption of charge on December 21, 2023, marking the official commencement of his responsibilities in the redesigned position.
