India and Qatar have signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in the presence of Union Minister Piyush Goyal and the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani. The agreements were formalized at the inaugural session of the India-Qatar Joint Business Forum, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in collaboration with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
Speaking at the forum, Minister Goyal emphasized the historically strong ties between India and Qatar, underscoring their potential for further collaboration. He highlighted the consistent expansion of trade in energy resources over the past 15-20 years and noted both nations’ commitment to leveraging emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to enhance economic cooperation.
‘The relationship between India and Qatar is deeply rooted in history and offers significant opportunities. The Prime Minister’s warm welcome to the Amir at the airport was a gesture of friendship and brotherhood. Over the past two decades, our trade in energy resources has grown steadily, and moving forward, both countries are dedicated to strengthening ties by embracing new technologies and adapting to the evolving global landscape. I foresee substantial growth in trade and investment between our nations,’ Goyal stated.
