The IndiaAI Mission, in collaboration with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), has shortlisted 20 applicants for Stage 2 of the IndiaAI CyberGuard AI Hackathon, an initiative under the IndiaAI Application Development Initiative.
The hackathon aims to leverage advanced AI technologies to strengthen cybersecurity measures and combat the rising menace of cyber fraud and crimes. With nearly 6,000 cybercrime cases reported daily through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP), this initiative seeks to develop innovative AI-driven solutions to enhance the prevention, detection, investigation, and prosecution of cybercrimes, ultimately bolstering citizen welfare.
A total of 263 submissions were received from academic institutions, startups, research organizations, and civil society groups. The proposals were evaluated by a multi-stakeholder committee of technical experts, leading to the selection of 20 promising applicants for the next phase of the hackathon.
This strategic partnership between IndiaAI and I4C underscores the government’s commitment to utilizing cutting-edge technologies for addressing cybersecurity challenges. By fostering innovation through such initiatives, India aims to position itself as a global leader in leveraging AI for public welfare and national security.
The shortlisted applicants will now progress to Stage 2, where they will work on developing and refining their proposed solutions. The IndiaAI CyberGuard AI Hackathon serves as a testament to the potential of collaborative efforts in addressing critical national challenges and advancing technological innovation.
