In a solemn ceremony held this afternoon at the Central Hall of the Main Building of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Sheel Vardhan Singh, a distinguished former IPS officer with 37 years of exemplary service, took the oath of office and secrecy as a Member of the UPSC. The oath was administered by UPSC Chairman Dr. Manoj Soni.
Sheel Vardhan Singh has served as the Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) from November 2021 to December 2023, where his visionary leadership significantly enhanced security in the vital industrial sector.
Having contributed extensively to national security in various capacities, Singh is recognized for his involvement in high-level intelligence gathering, analysis, and formulation of national security policies. Notably, he played a crucial role in strengthening India’s international security posture during his posting at the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
His dedication and excellence in service were acknowledged with prestigious awards, including the President Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2004 and the President Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2010.
