Last Date for Fresh Admissions Re-extended Till 31 March, Announces IGNOU

In a recent update, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced yet another extension for students seeking fresh admissions for the January 2024 academic year. The last date for applications has been extended to March 31, providing an additional opportunity for interested candidates to enroll in various programmes offered by IGNOU.

Prospective students can submit their applications through the official website, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. This extension also allows eligible students to apply for government scholarships on the national scholarship portal at scholarships.gov.in after confirming their admission to IGNOU.

The January 2024 session at IGNOU offers programmes in online distance learning and online modes. With this extension, students now have an extra 10 days to complete their registrations for these programmes.

Steps to Register for IGNOU January 2024 Programmes:

Step 1: Visit the official website – ignou.ac.in
Step 2: Click on ‘Register Online’ followed by ‘Fresh Admissions’
Step 3: Navigate to the ‘New Registrations’ tab
Step 4: Fill in all the required registration details
Step 5: Use the login details received on the email ID and phone number to log in and complete the application
Step 6: Select the desired programme, provide all necessary details, and submit the application
Step 7: After submitting the form, save the page for future reference

Documents Required for Admissions:

  • Scanned photograph and signature (each less than 100 KB)
  • Scanned copy of relevant educational qualifications (less than 200 KB)
  • Copy of experience certificate (if applicable, less than 200 KB)
  • Scanned copy of category certificate, if SC/ST/OBC (less than 200 KB)

The application deadline for fresh admissions was initially set for February 29. This date was later extended to March 10, then to March 20, and now has been re-extended to March 31. This extension provides a final opportunity for students to enroll in IGNOU’s January 2024 session.
