Madhusudan Padhi Appointed as State Election Commissioner of Odisha

The Governor of Odisha, Hari Babu Kambhampati, has appointed former IAS officer Madhusudan Padhi as the new State Election Commissioner of Odisha. The official notification was issued by the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department on Monday.

Padhi succeeds retired IAS officer Aditya Prasad Padhi in this key constitutional role. According to the notification, “In pursuance of clause (1) of Article 243-K of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Odisha is pleased to appoint Shri Madhusudan Padhi, IAS (Retd.) as State Election Commissioner, Odisha.”

Madhusudan Padhi, who retired in October 2022, brings a wealth of experience to the position, having served the Odisha Government in various capacities. His tenure included prominent roles such as Transport Commissioner and Principal Secretary in the Electronics & Information Technology (E&IT) Department.
