Mizoram Cooperation Secretary Amit Sharma Visits Saitual with RCS to Push Cooperative Movement in IYC 2025

Amit Sharma, Secretary to Goverment, Cooperation, Mizoram conducted maiden visit to strategically located north eastern Saitual district of state, which shares international border with Myanmar and state border with Manipur state, wherein he sensitized the district administration about several ongoing initiatives of Cooperation Department during this ongoing International Year of Cooperatives, 2025, as declared by United Nations with the theme “Cooperatives Build a Better World.” He was accompanied by John Sanga, Registrar Cooperative Societies (RCS) Mizoram and Deputy Registrars and DCOs in a meeting held at DC Saitual Office wherein several Chairpersons of successful Cooperative Societies here also participated.

On the arrival, Deputy Commission Saitual who is also Chairman of DCDC, welcomed the Secretary Cooperation Amit Sharma and shared various initiatives taken in Cooperation Sector here and it was followed by sharing of success stories by Chairpersons of respective MPACS which were highly appreciated by the Secretaty and RCS.

Mizoram Cooperation Secretary Amit Sharma Visits Saitual Secretary Cooperation Mizoram Amit Sharma emphasized that the theme of United Nations for 2025 has to be implemented in letter and spirit for which it has been decided here that the awareness-cum-sensitisation drive in all districts of Mizoram shall be led by Secretary Cooperation and Registrar Cooperative Societies and Saitual was the first such district in this series.

Secretary Cooperation Amit Sharma noted all the issues raised during the Meeting and assured DC Saitual that the demand for new district office here shall be assessed by RCS office team, so that the district can push Cooperative Movement in a big way here. He emphasised that more and more farmers should be encouraged to take loans and assistance, being offered under NABARD and NCDC along with opening of CSCs, Jan Aushadi Kendras, etc in all MPACS here.

Apart from this, Secretary Amit Sharma along with RCS personally visited few old and new MPACS here and expressed satisfaction over their performance while the society members highly appreciated this high-level which they mentioned, has never happened in the past.

It is noticeable that recently, Secretary Cooperation Amit Sharma during Regional Review Meeting led by Union Secretary Cooperation at Gujarat, shared several key initiatives being taken in Mizoram state along with the need for giving special impetus here so that exemplary work can be done in state of Mizoram having high potential of creating successful MPACS here.
