Mizoram to Receive Top-Tier IT Interventions, Assures ICT Secretary Amit Sharma at Digital Transformation Conclave

Amit Sharma, Secretary to the Government of Mizoram, Information & Communications Technology (ICT) and Cooperation Departments, was the Programme Chair of a prestigious and maiden Digital Transformation Conclave (DTC) held in the state of Mizoram wherein states/UTs and global Corporate giants participated and expressed their unparalleled resolve towards pushing Mizoram to ‘level next’ in implementing IT reforms here. Secretary ICT, while making a Welcome Address, during the Inaugural Session, promised that no stone shall be left unturned towards introducing best and latest technological interventions suited for Mizoram with the support of latest tools like Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, State-of-the Art Data Centres, Paperless Office Working, WiFi Public Zones, Mizo Fiber for last mile connectivity in the near future.

Mizoram to Receive Top-Tier IT Interventions, Assures ICT Secretary Amit Sharma at Digital Transformation Conclave This maiden grand IT Conclave was conceptualised and organised by ICT Department, led by Amit Sharma, in collaboration with GovConnect (an initiative by ilouge Media), led by Fahim Haque and his team wherein Chief Guest was Chief Minister of Mizoram, Pu Laldhoma and Guest of Honour was ICT/HE/SE/IPR Minister Dr Vanlalthlana. Apart from them, Special Guests during Inaugural Session were Chief Secretary Mizoram Khilli Ram Meena, Director General of Police Mizoram Anil Shukla, Additional Secretary DARPG, Government of India Puneet Yadav and Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Mahaveer Singhvi, who echoed their views while complimenting Amit Sharma for bringing Mizoram on the ‘National IT Map’ with this maiden initiative here and expressed their resolve towards supporting Mizoram in this age of ongoing IT advancements everywhere.

WhatsApp Image 2025 05 17 at 18.33.44 -Chief Minister Mizoram Laldohoma shared various IT-enablement steps taken in the state and expressed that more and more services should be offered to the public through electronic mode for their convenience. Just to share, Government of Mizoram pushed hard towards implement e-Office in Secretariat here in first phase on CM’s directions and Secretary ICT Amit Sharma further divulged that soon, e-Office shall be taken to all field offices in next phase including HOD / DC offices and he also disclosed that ultimately, the target is to help the general public by making Block-level offices paperless and efficient through implementation of e-Offices and simplified e-Services model in Mizoram.

ICT Minister Dr Vanlalthlana mentioned that digital interventions are the need of the hour and complimented the strenuous efforts of ICT Department led by Secretary Amit Sharma for bringing lot of IT and Communication giants in Mizoram who promised towards making future investments here in collaboration with various Government departments.

Chief Secretary Mizoram Khilli Ram Meena, while addressing the full-house gathering, assured total support of the Government towards ongoing digital interventions and introduction of few more AI-IT related ones like Bhashini, Cyber Security, Data Centre and Cloud Services in the state of Mizoram and he also requested Telcos to ensure 4G Saturation in all the remaining uncovered areas of the state. DGP Mizoram Anil Shukla also shared that the Policing in the state is largely happening through the modern technological interventions and expressed that real-time data sharing by various global players is a must for crime detection and apprehending the wrong doers.

Apart from this, Panel Discussions and Industry Presentations were held all across the day, wherein senior officers of multiple states like UP, Telangana, Karnataka, Assam, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and officials from Government of India Ministries and Departments such as MEA, MeitY, DARPG, DST, etc participated proactively and shared their perspectives towards making Viksit Bharat in 2047.

Secretary ICT Amit Sharma during his Valedictory Address before the culmination of DTC, expressed deep gratitude towards all the visiting officers for making it a grand success with their presence in Mizoram and also, thanked global corporates like Google Cloud, Yotta, AMNEX, ESDS, for joining hands for taking Mizoram towards a new era of IT-enablement in times to come.
