MOIL and MPSMCL Forge Strategic Partnership to Boost Manganese Ore Mining in Madhya Pradesh

To enhance manganese ore mining and value-addition in Madhya Pradesh, MOIL (Manganese Ore India Limited) and Madhya Pradesh State Mining Corporation Limited (MPSMCL) have entered into a draft joint venture agreement. This collaboration was formally announced at the MP Mining Conclave’24 in Bhopal, with the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav, in attendance, along with other esteemed dignitaries.

As part of the agreement, a new joint venture company will be established, with MOIL holding a 51% stake and MPSMCL holding 49%. The collaboration is expected to drive significant value-addition projects, advancing Madhya Pradesh’s role in the manganese ore sector and aligning with India’s vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).

This strategic partnership between MOIL and MPSMCL is set to unlock vast mineral resources, ensuring sustainable growth and contributing to the socio-economic development of the region. The joint venture is also expected to create numerous employment opportunities, benefiting local communities and strengthening India’s position in the global manganese market.

Dr. Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, praised the initiative, stating, ‘This collaboration is a key milestone for the state’s mining sector, and we are committed to fostering an environment that supports industrial growth and economic self-reliance.’

The JV agreement marks a promising step towards expanding the mining sector in Madhya Pradesh, further contributing to India’s growing industrial base and its aspirations for self-sufficiency in key mineral resources.

Key figures present at the signing ceremony included Sanjay Shukla, Principal Secretary, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Ajit Kumar Saxena, CMD MOIL, and M. M.
