NABARD reports 38 percent increase in its financial support in Bihar in FY 2021-22

The National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has provided financial support amounting to Rs. 9,836 crore in Bihar in FY 2021-22, an increase of 38 percent.

Sunil Kumar, NABARD Chief General Manager, Bihar said, “NABARD has exceeded its past records in providing financial support for increasing the Ground Level Credit (GLC) flow in agriculture and other allied sectors in Bihar. During FY 2021-22, financial support of Rs. 9,836 was provided as against Rs. 7,129 crore during FY 202-21. It is an increase of approximately 38 percent as compared to the previous financial year. ”

He further added, “The Rural Infrastructure Development Fund loan of RS. 2,400 crore was provided to Bihar during FY 2021-22 for supporting the state government to strengthen rural infrastructure. Moreover, Rs. 1,385 was sanctioned for the Ganga Water Lift Project. Also, an amount of Rs. 711 crore was provided for renovation, development, and modernization of agriculture market yards in 12 districts and Rs 1,033 crore for rural/bridges and irrigation projects. ”

Kumar also said that the NABARD has provided Rs. 2,463 crore to the cooperative banks for facilitating paddy procurement in the state. These banks were also supported by Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies computerization and the setting up of Mobile ATMs.
