In a landmark achievement reinforcing its leadership in public infrastructure and defence sector development, NBCC (India) Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has secured a ₹350 crore Project Management Consultancy (PMC) assignment from the Heavy Vehicles Factory (HVF), a unit of Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL) under the Ministry of Defence, located in Avadi, Chennai.
The project, awarded through a Quality-cum-Cost Based Selection (QCBS) process, entails design, engineering, and project management for major capital civil works that will significantly enhance India’s defence manufacturing infrastructure.
Under the assignment, NBCC will oversee the construction and development of key facilities, including the AVNL Corporate Office Complex, Ordnance Development Centre and Workshop, test track infrastructure to support T-Series Tank overhaul capabilities, and residential quarters for AVNL personnel within the HVF and AVNL estates.
With a total estimated value of ₹350 crore and a completion timeline of 36 months, the project will be executed with strict adherence to quality, safety, and sustainability standards. The engagement strengthens NBCC’s role as a strategic partner in the Ministry of Defence’s infrastructure modernization programme, integrating green building practices, advanced design innovation, and modern project management techniques.
NBCC’s selection through the QCBS system underscores its technical excellence, consistent performance ratings, and proven track record in delivering large-scale government and defence projects. With this milestone, NBCC continues to expand its portfolio of mission-critical national infrastructure, ranging from smart institutional campuses to strategic defence facilities of national importance.
