New Delhi: The National Council of Educational Research & Training (NCERT) has introduced a one-year diploma program aimed at enhancing the skills and expertise of professionals in the field of guidance and counselling. This comprehensive course combines distance learning with face-to- face interaction to ensure an effective and engaging learning experience.
According to NCERT, the primary objective of this program is to empower teachers with the necessary tools and knowledge to foster the holistic development of students, enabling them to address their academic, socio-emotional, and ethical challenges effectively.
Eligibility
The course is available to teachers, teacher educators, school administrators, and untrained guidance personnel in India. The course will be divided into three phases: distance learning (January – June 2024), face-to-face contact program at study centers (July – September 2024), and an internship in the hometown (October – December 2024).
Admission will be granted to eligible candidates at DEPFE, NIE, New Delhi, and Regional Institutes of Education located in Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysuru, and Shillong, as announced by NCERT. The deadline for submitting the online application form is November 3, 2023.
