New digital laws are required for the success of digital transformation

As India is improving its digital capabilities, it is important to make the Internet accessible, open and safe for all Indians. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics and Information Technology said making sure the internet remains safe, trusted, and accountable is a particular policy challenge, which needs attention at the legislative framework.

Further, he added that it is time for us to take up an active discussion about a new digital law addressing the key issues related to connectivity, regulation, service quality, user harm, cybercrime, and safety and security in cyberspace. The thriving internet, digital transactions, digital payments, and business demand the involvement of instrumental thoughts, discussions, and discourse along with jurisprudence laws in line with nations to lead Web 3.0.

Undeniably people are switching to digital payments which will intensify in the coming years. The roadmap for its expansion will gradually expand with the introduction of India’s Central Bank Digital Currency.
