New Delhi: NHPC Limited, the leading hydropower company in India, has entered into a strategic partnership with RITES, a Miniratna Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, to construct a railway siding at Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh. This initiative is aimed at supporting NHPC’s 2,880 MW Dibang Multi Purpose Project.
By combining the expertise of NHPC and RITES, this collaboration will deliver efficient and comprehensive solutions for developing rail infrastructure facilities in Arunachal Pradesh. RITES, serving as a Project Management Consultant, will leverage its core strength to cater to the rail infrastructure needs of NHPC Dibang and upcoming projects in the region.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at NHPC Corporate Office, Faridabad on 21st August 2023. The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of Shri Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects) NHPC, the Executive Director (Dibang) NHPC, the Executive Director of RITES, and the General Manager (Civil) Dibang.
NHPC Limited is recognized as the premier hydropower company in India, boasting a total installed capacity of 7,097.2 MW of renewable power, including wind and solar energy, across 25 power stations. NHPC’s subsidiaries contribute an additional 1,520 MW to this capacity.
On the other hand, RITES Limited holds the status of a Miniratna (Category–I) Schedule ‘A’ Public Sector Enterprise and is a prominent player in the transport consultancy and engineering sector in India. With its broad range of services and extensive geographical reach, RITES serves as a reliable partner in various industries.
