The Union Minister of Ayush and Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, alongside Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, marked a significant milestone by laying the foundation stone for the Central Research Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy (CRIYN) in Dihing Khamtighat, Dibrugarh. The event also marked the initiation of a 100-bed Yoga & Naturopathy hospital at the same location.
The sprawling institution, set to be developed over a 15-acre land parcel with an investment of approximately ₹100 crores, aims to bridge traditional knowledge of Yoga and Naturopathy with modern technological tools. Shri Sonowal emphasized the institute’s role in setting benchmark standards for education, preventive healthcare, and research in the field. The state-of-the-art facility will focus on scientific validation of traditional medicine through evidence-based research, serving as an international collaboration center for global promotion and research in Yoga and Naturopathy.
The institute is poised to play a crucial role in clinical training, offering programs in areas such as cardiac rehabilitation, diabetes rehabilitation, autoimmune diseases, and NCD risk reduction. CRIYN aims to develop evidence-based protocols for managing Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and reinforcing the Integrated Medicine approach to patient care.
The institute’s services will encompass inpatient, outpatient, and day care services, offering a range of treatments such as naturopathy diet and nutrition, yoga therapy, massage & manipulative therapies, acupressure, acupuncture, chromotherapy, magneto therapy, physiotherapy, and hydrotherapy.
Patients can benefit from effective management of various health conditions, including obesity, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, asthma, COPD, migraine, arthritis, autoimmune diseases, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases.
