NTPC Group Achieves Record-Breaking 300 Billion Units Electricity Generation

NTPC Group has achieved an extraordinary milestone by generating 300 Billion Units (BU) of electricity on December 18, 2023. This remarkable feat was accomplished in just 262 days in the financial year 2023-24, surpassing the previous year’s record by 18 days. In the fiscal year 2022-23, NTPC had reached the 300 BU mark on January 5, 2023.

NTPC’s standalone electricity generation from its stations accounted for an impressive 256 BU in FY 2023-24, underscoring the company’s commitment to delivering reliable and affordable power to the nation.

Despite its already substantial installed capacity of approximately 74 GW, NTPC has over 18 GW capacity under construction, including 5 GW in renewables. The company remains steadfast in its commitment to achieve 60 GW of Renewable Energy capacity by 2032, contributing significantly to India’s sustainable energy goals.

In addition to its core business of power generation, NTPC has ventured into new areas, including e-mobility, Waste-to-Energy, and Green Hydrogen solutions. The company has also actively participated in the bidding for power distribution in Union Territories, showcasing its commitment to exploring innovative avenues within the energy sector.
