The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the appointment of Rajiv Dhankher, an Indian Railways Service of Engineers (IRSE) officer, as the new Director of Projects and Planning.
Dhankher, an IRSE officer from the 1992 cohort, brings with him three decades of extensive experience in various critical roles within the railway sector. He has been pivotal in project planning and execution throughout his career. Dhankher’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur and a master’s degree from IIT Delhi. Additionally, he holds an LLB from Delhi University and a post-graduate diploma in management from Gurugram.
Before joining DMRC, Dhankher served as the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) for the Ajmer division of Indian Railways, where he oversaw the commissioning of the Udaipur-Himmat Nagar railway section. He has also held the position of Principal Project Manager for the Sahibabad-Ghaziabad-Duhai priority section at the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). Notably, Dhankher played a significant role in the commissioning of the Jammu-Udhampur Rail Link Project.
