Former IRS officer Rakesh Kumar Goyal has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Punjab Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). Goyal’s appointment to the top post comes eight months after the resignation of the previous chairman, Satya Gopal, a retired IAS officer of the 1988 AGMUT cadre.
Rakesh Kumar Goyal, who was initially appointed as a member of the Punjab RERA in December 2022, has been entrusted with leading the regulatory body overseeing the real estate sector in the state. His predecessor, Satya Gopal, had stepped down from his position earlier this year, leaving a vacancy in the leadership role.
