In a formal ceremony held at the state secretariat, senior IAS officer Ravi Kota assumed office as the new Chief Secretary of Assam. Kota takes over the responsibilities from the retired Paban Kumar Borthakur, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the state’s administration.
Ravi Kota, belonging to the 1993 batch, held crucial portfolios such as Industries, Commerce, Public Enterprises, and Finance. Although no longer overseeing the Finance department, Kota will retain responsibilities for Industries, Commerce, and Public Enterprises, as detailed in an official order.
Addressing the gathering upon assuming charge, Chief Secretary Ravi Kota expressed gratitude for the opportunity and sought support from the people and his colleagues. He emphasized the importance of building upon the work of his predecessor, aiming to contribute significantly to the ongoing development initiatives of the Assam government.
‘I seek support from all the people and colleagues to take forward the work of my predecessor. I hope to contribute to the development work being undertaken by the Assam government,’ Kota stated, outlining his commitment to the state’s progress.
