REC Limited, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Sevarth Sansthan Seth Bimal Kumar Jain Trauma & Physiotherapy Dharmarth Samiti (SSB) to provide financial assistance of Rs. 14 crore for the procurement of a Linear Accelerator (LINAC) machine. The machine will be installed at the Trauma Centre established by SSB in Firozabad District, Uttar Pradesh.
The agreement was signed on December 27, 2024, by Pradeep Fellows, Executive Director, CSR, REC Limited, and P.K. Jindal, President, SSB, in the presence of Vivek Kumar Dewangan (IAS), Chairman and Managing Director, REC Limited.
A Linear Accelerator (LINAC) is an advanced medical device used for precision treatment of various cancers, including those of the brain, spine, head and neck, lung, breast, stomach, rectum, uterus, and prostate, among others. Its installation will significantly enhance the quality of cancer care available in the region, benefiting countless patients.
Speaking about the initiative, Vivek Kumar Dewangan emphasized that the project aligns with REC’s CSR commitment to promoting health and well-being within communities. ‘This project is a step toward creating a healthier future for all and reinforces REC’s dedication to nation-building,’ he stated.
