The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MOHUA) honored Srinagar Smart City with the Urban Transport Excellence Award for its comprehensive sustainable public transport initiatives, encompassing pedestrianization, e-rickshaws, e-buses, and an integrated e-boat program.
CEO Srinagar Smart City Limited and Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Athar Amir Khan announced on Instagram, ‘We are extremely honoured to receive the prestigious Award of Excellence for Srinagar’s Multimodal Transport Initiative conferred by the Ministry of Housing Affairs, GoI at the Urban Mobility India Conference 2023.’
‘Srinagar Smart City has been selected as the winner based on its performance over the past one year to improve public transport in the city with an integrated multimodal public transport plan comprising of pedestrianisation, public bicycle sharing, e-Rickshaw feeder system, electric bus transport and water transport, he added.
Talking to X, Office of the LG Manoj Sinha informed that Srinagar Smart City has been awarded the Excellence in Urban Transport award for multimodal sustainable public transport initiatives and congratulated entire Athar Amir Khan and team on this occasion.
Athar Amir Khan expressed his gratitude to LG Manoj Sinha for his support and guidance. ‘Thank you so much sir for making this possible and for the unrelenting encouragement, support and guidance to Srinagar Smart City,’ Khan posted on X.
