The Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (ITE&C) Department of the Government of Telangana, in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) DX Lab and the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) Ltd, successfully organized an ideation workshop to outline the roadmap for the proposed AI City. The event took place at T-Works, Hyderabad, bringing together key stakeholders from the AI ecosystem.
The workshop was chaired by Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Special Chief Secretary at the Department of ITE&C, and co-chaired by Dr. E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, IFS, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of TSIIC Ltd. The session focused on learning from global benchmarks and gathering insights from startups, corporates, and academia to shape the vision of the AI City. Key participants included the Emerging Technologies Wing of the Government of Telangana, the Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad (RICH), Telangana AI Mission (T-AIM), and MATH AI & ML Tech Hub.
The AI City, announced last year by Hon’ble Minister for IT Shri Sridhar Babu Duddilla, is a flagship initiative forming a core component of the Future City at Mucherla in Rangareddy district. The discussions at the workshop revolved around conceptualizing innovative spaces, tenant-friendly policies, and strategic initiatives to enhance engagement and drive footfall within the AI City.
The Government of Telangana now plans to consolidate the ideas generated during the workshop to formulate investor-friendly policies and business development strategies. The objective is to establish the AI City as a globally competitive hub for AI-driven innovation, reinforcing Telangana’s position as a leader in emerging technologies.
