TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti Inaugurates SATRC Workshop on Spectrum

Anil Kumar Lahoti, Chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), inaugurated the South Asian Telecommunication Regulators’ Council (SATRC) Workshop on Spectrum today. The event was graced by Masanori Kondo, Secretary General of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT), and witnessed participation from delegates representing SATRC member countries, industry experts, and various government departments.

The three-day workshop, organized by the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity and hosted by TRAI at Hotel Double Tree by Hilton, Goa, focuses on the critical importance of effective spectrum management in the ever-evolving telecommunications landscape.

Key Objectives and Outcomes

The workshop aims to enhance participants’ understanding of key spectrum management issues and generate actionable insights for the SATRC Working Group. By fostering collaboration among member countries, industry experts, and policymakers, the event seeks to develop best practices and strategies for optimal spectrum utilization.

Speaking at the inauguration, Anil Kumar Lahoti emphasized the importance of spectrum in driving innovation and connectivity in the region. “Effective spectrum management is critical for addressing the growing demands of the telecommunications sector. This workshop provides a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration to address these challenges,” he said.

Masanori Kondo highlighted the role of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity in promoting regional cooperation in telecommunications. “The SATRC Workshop on Spectrum will pave the way for stronger partnerships and innovative solutions to enhance spectrum efficiency,” he remarked.
