Union Health Minister Inaugurates 3 CGHS Wellness Centres and Robotic Unit at NIT & RD

In a significant stride towards enhancing healthcare facilities for beneficiaries, Union Health Minister, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, inaugurated three new CGHS Wellness Centres in Alaknanda, Rohini Sector -16, and Vasant Vihar, along with a state-of-the-art Robotic Unit at the National Institute of TB and Respiratory Diseases (NIT & RD). This inauguration aligns with the government’s commitment to expanding healthcare coverage and accessibility for the citizens.

Dr. Mandaviya highlighted the impact of government reforms, noting that the number of cities covered under CGHS has increased from 25 in 2014 to 80, with plans to extend the coverage to 100 cities across India. He reiterated the CGHS goal, ‘your health, our goal,’ emphasizing the importance of ensuring beneficiaries have access to healthcare services close to their residences.

The Union Health Minister expressed the significance of robotic surgery in providing optimal care for patients with tuberculosis requiring surgery. He underscored the government’s dedication to providing accessible and affordable healthcare to every corner of the nation, fostering the foundation of a healthy country.

In line with the commitment to fostering a healthier and technologically advanced nation, Dr. Mandaviya shared that a multi-tier approach has been adopted to revise the package rates of CGHS packages in empanelled private hospitals. This initiative aims to provide beneficiaries with quality healthcare services at affordable rates, benefiting both beneficiaries and hospitals.

Leveraging digital technology, the Health Ministry has streamlined the reimbursement process, enhancing the overall experience for beneficiaries. Dr. Mandaviya emphasized that the National Health Authority platform, similar to the one used for Ayushman Bharat, facilitates smoother processes, enabling private hospitals to provide priority treatment to beneficiaries.

Dr. Mandaviya also highlighted the availability of Jan Aushadhi medicines in CGHS Wellness Centres, extending this benefit not only to CGHS beneficiaries but to the entire public. The Health Minister celebrated the transformation of healthcare services and infrastructure, citing the establishment of over 1.6 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in India, ensuring holistic treatments for the public.

The event witnessed the presence of other dignitaries, including Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Meenakshi Lekhi, Union Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, and Ramesh Bidhuri, MP. The occasion marked a significant step forward in the government’s commitment to providing accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare services to all.
