West Bengal Government Announces Key IPS Appointments

The West Bengal government has undertaken a significant reshuffle within its IPS Cadre, aimed at strengthening leadership and optimizing police operations across the state.

Ajay Kumar Thakur, a distinguished 2007-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Barrackpore Police Commissionerate.

Alok Rajoria, who previously served as the Commissioner of Barrackpore Police Commissionerate, has been reassigned as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Traffic for West Bengal Police.

Additionally, Raj Narayan Mukherjee, formerly the Superintendent of Police (SP) Traffic, has been appointed as the Commandant of the State Armed Police (SAP) 2nd Battalion.
