Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia unveiled an ambitious education manifesto for the Jangpura constituency on Sunday, promising transformative initiatives to bolster educational opportunities for children and educators alike.
‘Quality education is the key to the progress of any family. As Delhi’s education minister, I have laid a foundation to provide quality education to every child in Delhi. Now, as MLA from the Jangpura constituency, I am here to continue this work and realise my dream of providing the best possible educational facilities to every child,’ Sisodia declared during the manifesto launch.
Key Highlights of the Manifesto
- New Schools & Infrastructure:
Two fully-equipped schools are set to be established in Sarai Kale Khan, Hazrat Nizamuddin, and other areas, with modern buildings replacing outdated infrastructure in schools at Feroz Shah Kotla and Hari Nagar Ashram to accommodate students up to Class 12. - Seamless Coordination with Traffic Authorities:
To ensure student safety and punctuality, Sisodia proposed liaising with traffic police to streamline commutes during school hours. - Integrated Education System:
A novel approach will link Delhi government schools with 17 municipal schools and 62 local anganwadis, creating a comprehensive educational network for children aged 3 to 18. - Enhanced Teacher Training & Research:
DIET Daryaganj will be transformed into a modern training and research hub, encouraging educators to embrace innovative methods. ITI Hazrat Nizamuddin will introduce cutting-edge courses to boost employability. - Language Proficiency Courses:
Spoken English courses and multilingual training in German, French, Japanese, Tamil, and other South Indian languages will be offered to broaden students’ linguistic and professional horizons. - ‘Shiksha Par Charcha’ Programs:
Monthly discussions with teachers and principals aim to foster a collaborative approach to tackling educational challenges.
Sisodia visions to making Delhi a hub of quality education, with a special focus on preparing students for a competitive global landscape. This manifesto is not just a list of promises but a roadmap for the future of education in Jangpura, he said.
