K Vijayanand Appointed as Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has appointed K Vijayanand (IAS: 1992: AP), currently serving as Special Chief Secretary, Energy Department, as the new Chief Secretary of the state.

Vijayanand will succeed Neerabh Kumar Prasad (IAS: 1987: AP), who is retiring after an illustrious career in public service.

His tenure includes serving as Chairman of AP TRANSCO and APGENCO, where he made significant contributions to the energy sector. In addition to his accomplishments in the energy sector, Vijayanand served as Principal Secretary of the IT and Electronics Department from 2016 to 2019. During this period, he played a pivotal role in attracting major IT companies to Andhra Pradesh, enhancing the state’s reputation as an emerging hub for technology and innovation.
