JEE Main 2025 Session 1 Begins Tomorrow: Key Guidelines and Important Instructions for Candidates

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will commence the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025, Session 1, from Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Paper 1 of the entrance exam is scheduled on January 22, 23, 24, 28, and 29, while Paper 2 will be held on January 30.

Candidates appearing for the examination tomorrow are advised to adhere to the following important guidelines issued by the NTA to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience on the exam day.

Exam Day Guidelines for Candidates

Reporting Time: Candidates must report to their respective examination centers two hours before the exam begins to complete formalities without any rush.

Seat Allotment: Upon entering the exam hall, candidates are required to take their allotted seats immediately. Sitting in a seat other than the one assigned will result in cancellation of candidature.

Adherence to Timings: Candidates who fail to report on time due to reasons like traffic jams or delays in public transport may miss important instructions provided in the examination room.

Identity Verification: Candidates must carry their JEE Main admit card and a valid photo ID proof to gain entry into the exam hall. Verification of identity is mandatory, and failure to produce valid documents will lead to disqualification.

Technical Assistance: Candidates can approach the Centre Superintendent or Invigilator for any technical issues, emergencies, or additional information during the examination.

Question Paper Verification: Candidates should ensure that the question paper displayed on their computer matches the subject mentioned in their admit card. Any discrepancy must be reported to the invigilator immediately.

Documents and Items to Carry

On the day of the exam, candidates must carry the following:

Admit Card: A printed copy of the JEE Main 2025 Admit Card with a Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the NTA website.

Photograph: One passport-sized photo identical to the one uploaded in the application form.

Photo ID: Any one original, valid, and non-expired ID such as School ID, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar Card, or Passport.

PwD Certificate: For candidates claiming PwD/PwBD relaxation, a certificate issued by an authorized medical officer is required.

Transparent Pen: A simple transparent ballpoint pen for writing the exam.

Exam Schedule

  • Paper 1 (Engineering): Conducted in two shifts—9 AM to 12 PM and 3 PM to 6 PM.
  • Paper 2 (Architecture/Planning): Held in a single shift from 3 PM to 6:30 PM on January 30, 2025.

The admit cards for the first three exam days (January 22-24) are already available on the NTA’s official website, while hall tickets for the remaining days (January 28-30) will be released soon at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Candidates have been urged to strictly adhere to the NTA’s guidelines to avoid any inconvenience. For further details or updates, visit the official website of JEE Main.
