Government of Himachal Pradesh Announces Key IPS Appointments and Transfers

The Government of Himachal Pradesh has issued transfer and posting orders for senior IPS officers, marking significant administrative changes in the state’s police leadership.

As per the official notification, Ajay Kumar Yadav, a 1996-batch IPS officer returning from Central deputation, has been appointed as the Additional Director General of Police (Crime), Shimla. In addition to leading the Crime branch, he will also oversee litigation and conviction matters within the department and will head the Special Task Force (STF).

Another senior officer, Gyaneshwar Singh, a 1999-batch IPS officer also returning from Central deputation, has been posted as Additional Director General of Police (CID), Shimla. This appointment relieves Sanjeev Ranjan Ojha of his additional charge as Director General of CID.

Additionally, Jai Prakash Singh, a 2000-batch IPS officer recently promoted to the rank of ADGP, has been assigned the role of ADGP (Armed Police & Training), Shimla.

Further strengthening the leadership, Anjum Ara, a 2011-batch IPS officer who was promoted to DIG of Police (DIG), has been posted as DIG (Southern Range), Shimla. This appointment addresses the vacancy created by the upgradation of the post of Inspector General of Police (Southern Range).
