The Banaras Hindu University has launched a new scholarship scheme for international students. The scheme has been initiated to promote and motivate international students and attract them to various programmed offered by the university. Foreign Students getting scholarships will receive Rs 6000 per month which will be renewed annually based on their performance. If any student is already getting a scholarship of lower value, he/she will be entitled to receive the difference.

Official statement released by Banaras Hindu University said, “The scheme is expected to draw more international students to BHU. Besides, it is also in the spirit of National Education Policy 2020 which puts a greater focus on internationalisation of the Indian Education System, by way of having more students from abroad on Indian campuses.”
The decision to initiate ‘Scholarship to International Students’ was finalized in the meeting of Governing Body of Institution of Eminence, BHU, under the chairmanship of vice-chancellor Sudhir K Jain. Vice-Chancellor Jain said that the university has formed a three-member committee to ensure hassle-free implementation and monitoring of the scheme. The application received under the scheme shall be submitted to the Institution of Eminence Cell of the varsity.
