The Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC), a flagship institution under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, has named technocrat Abhijeet Sinha, who brings over a decade of proven expertise in economic advancement and technological commercialization, as its Principal Adviser.
The appointment comes at a crucial juncture when India is scaling up efforts to tackle tariff and non-tariff challenges through initiatives like the ₹25,000-crore Export Promotion Mission. Sinha’s expertise in climate financing, green credits, circular economy, and public-private partnership models is expected to significantly bolster SEPC’s mission to expand India’s services exports.
In his new role, Sinha will drive digital tools, market identification and global branding of Indian services, aligning with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat. Known for developing innovative blended finance instruments such as the Annuity Hybrid E-Mobility (AHEM) and Digital Health Annuity Model (DHAM), he has successfully mobilized private investments worth over ₹5,000 crore in projects like National Highways for Electric Vehicles (NHEV).
Currently serving as National Program Director of Ease of Doing Business, Sinha is recognized for his evidence-driven policymaking, accessibility and reform-oriented approach. His leadership is expected to strengthen SEPC’s role in positioning India as a global hub for world-class services, fostering transparency, innovation, and enhanced private sector participation.
