Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has started Financial Assistance Loan Scheme to help the students pursuing education at BHU. The loan scheme is for financially weak students who are facing challenges to study in the university.

Under Financial Assistance Loan Scheme, financial aid of Rs 12,000 will be given annually to students, whose family income is equivalent to that of a Below Poverty Line (BPL) card holder adhering to the government standard, or who have lost their guardians due to COVID or any other reason.
The loan scheme will provide financial assistance to such students so that they can pursue their studies at Banaras Hindu University uninterruptedly. The recommendation of two faculty members of the Banaras Hindi University will also be mandatory favoring the students applying under this scheme.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain said the Banaras Hindu University administration will take all necessary steps to assist the students in completing their education at BHU. He further added that their financial condition should not become a hindrance to the welfare of the students and the Financial Assistance Loan Scheme is the embodiment of this commitment of the University.
