Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Vivek Kumar has been appointed as PS to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Joint Secretary level. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinets has given nod to the proposal for the appointment of Kumar as Prime Minister’s PS on Friday.

An order has been issued by the Government of India regarding his appointment on Saturday. A release from the personnel and training read, “The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal for the appointment of Vivek Kumar, IFS (2004) as PS to PM at Joint Secretary level in the Prime Minister’s Office.”
Vivek Kumar joined the PMO as a Deputy Secretary in 2014. B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Kumar replaced Sanjeev Kumar Singla, Personal Secretary to PM Modi.
A 2004-batch IFS Kumar was currently serving as the director of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
