The officials will travel to other smart cities across the nation to learn about their top sewage and solid waste management techniques. The cities of Delhi, Chandigarh, Agra, Shimla, and Manali are just a few of these smart cities.

The corporators of the city are being asked for a letter of permission by the Greater Vishakapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) to take part in a planned study tour. The consent letter distributed among corporators states that the study would be carried out between July 29 and August 7.
In addition to the Swatch Bharat efforts, the corporators will investigate other development programmes being undertaken in these cities. The study trip will assist the GVMC in organising activities from these cities in Vizag that are similar to them.
Before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, such a study visit was last done. A state-level delegation, which included a number of GVMC representatives, travelled to Indore in February 2020 on a study tour.
The GVMC established a number of solid waste management best practices as a result of their observations.
