New Delhi: The various initiatives were launched by the Union Minister for Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Shri Narayan Rane on MSME Day.
The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, MSME, commemorated ‘Udyami Bharat-MSME Day’ on Tuesday in observance of International MSME Day. The Chief Guest, Shri Narayan Rane, Union Minister for Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, and the Guest of Honor, Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, Union Minister of State for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, attended the event.
During the event, the Ministry of MSME unveiled several initiatives dedicated to the growth and development of MSMEs, including the ‘CHAMPIONS 2.0 Portal’ and the ‘Mobile App for Geo-tagging of Cluster Projects and Technology Centers. The Chief Guest and Guest of Honor officially launched these initiatives. Additionally, the results of the ‘MSME Idea Hackathon 2.0’ were announced, and the ‘MSME Idea Hackathon 3.0’ for women entrepreneurs was introduced.
In his address, Shri Narayan Rane emphasized the significance of MSMEs in the country’ GDP and exports. He expressed optimism that MSMEs would contribute to 50% of the country’ GDP by 2030. He congratulated all stakeholders on the success of the event and encouraged everyone to work towards making India a USD 5 trillion economy.
Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma acknowledged the role of Indian MSMEs in the country’s economic growth, noting that India’s GDP ranking had risen from 10th to 5th position since 2014.
During the ceremony, both Union Ministers motivated entrepreneurs by presenting certificates to Gold and Silver ZED-certified MSMEs. Furthermore, 10,075 beneficiaries of new Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) units received a digital release of a Margin Money subsidy worth 400 crore.
The event also witnessed the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between various organizations, including the Ministry of MSME and SIDBI for the creation of a portal for ‘PM VIshwakarma KAushal Samman’ (PMVIKAS) by SIDBI.
The Ministry of MSME and GeM agreed to share Udyam Registration data with GeM to facilitate the registration of MSMEs in the Public Procurement eco-system. The Ministry of MSME also signed MoUs with the Industry Department, Government of Tripura, and the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) for the sharing of Udyam Registration data and guarantee coverage to MSME beneficiaries, respectively.
Furthermore, collaborations were established between NSIC and NSFDC & NSTFDC, as well as NSIC, LG Electronics India Private Limited, and the Electronics Sector Skill Council of India to support SC/ST entrepreneurs and establish a Center of Excellence (CoE) in NTSC Chennai and Hyderabad.
The program showcased and celebrated the Ministry of MSME’ schemes and initiatives, demonstrating their commitment to improving the business environment for MSMEs and encouraging the adoption of sustainable practices.
