REC Signs Pact with NICSI for ICT and Digital Transformation

New Delhi: The REC (formerly Rural Electrification Corporation Limited), which is a ‘Maharatna’ company under the Ministry of Power, has recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/s National Informatics Centre Services Inc. (NICSI) under the National Informatics Centre (NIC), which comes under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India. This collaboration aims to provide a wide range of Information & Communications Technology (ICT) and Digital Transformation Services.

This collaboration aims to enhance the REC ecosystem by facilitating the exploration of cutting-edge technologies in emerging fields such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Data Analytics, Blockchain, Cyber Security, and more.

The MoU to this effect was signed by Sh. Pankaj Gupta, Sr.GM & HoD (IT) – REC Limited and Dr. Vinay Thakur, MD – NICSI in New Delhi.

This collaboration with NICSI will allow REC to offer a comprehensive range of services, including the deployment, hosting, and technical support of NIC/NICSI software products. Additionally, REC will also be responsible for core roll-out, security, system administration, and other related services.
