IAS Officer Giridhar Aramane Appointed as Additional Charge of Ex-Servicemen Welfare Department

The Government of India has appointed Senior IAS Officer Giridhar Aramane, belonging to the Andhra Pradesh cadre of the 1988 batch, to take on the additional responsibility of overseeing the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare. This move comes following the transfer of Vijay Kumar Singh, who has returned to his parent cadre and assumed the role of Special Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister of Punjab.

Giridhar Aramane, currently serving as the Secretary in the Department of Defence since November 2022, will now shoulder the additional responsibility of the Ex-Servicemen Welfare Department while continuing to fulfill his existing duties.

A distinguished graduate of IIT Madras and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, Aramane brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His extensive career includes notable positions such as the Collector of Chittoor and Khammam districts in Andhra Pradesh, Principal Secretary in the Urban Development Department, Managing Director of AP State Finance Corporation, and Secretary of the Finance Department.
