The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced the transfer and posting of 56 officers, with the notable appointment of IAS Athar Aamir Khan as the District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner of Kulgam district. Prior to this role, Khan had served as the CEO of Municipal Commissioner Srinagar and Srinagar Smart City Limited for an impressive tenure of nearly three years.
Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to serve in Srinagar, Khan took to his Instagram account, where he enjoys a massive following of 705K, to share his thoughts. He stated, ‘Working in Srinagar for almost 3 years as Commissioner SMC and CEO Srinagar Smart City was an opportunity of a lifetime. I am immensely grateful for this opportunity. As I move on to my next assignment as DC/DM Kulgam, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone in Srinagar for all the support, love, and affection.’
Born in September 1992 in Anantnag, Kashmir, Athar Aamir Khan achieved the remarkable feat of securing the 2nd All India Rank (AIR) in the UPSC civil services exam in 2015.
