As part of its forward-looking initiatives, the Department of Telecommunications has issued a call for research and development proposals on 6G ecosystem development through the newly launched integrated portal. This move signals India’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements in the telecommunications sector.

In addition to the Bharat 5G Portal, the Secretary launched the Future Tech-Experts registration portal in collaboration with PANIIT USA. This initiative is poised to guide and support the Indian telecom ecosystem, showcasing a proactive approach to fostering technological growth.

A significant highlight of the event was the special meeting session titled ‘Bridging Dreams and Funding: Linking Venture Capital/Investors to the Future of Startups.’ The session, inaugurated by Secretary (T), featured presentations by 26 startups/MSMEs on innovative telecom products seeking funding. More than 10 venture capitalists and investors actively participated in the meet, engaging in discussions on potential collaborations and contributions to the growth and scalability of the presented products.

Addressing the audience after the Bharat 5G Portal launch, Dr. Neeraj Mittal emphasized India’s rapid progress in 5G rollout, positioning the country as one of the fastest in the world. He highlighted the unexpected development of indigenous 4G/5G technologies, making India the second-largest telecom network globally.
