The University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman, Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, has announced that a substantial number of universities and institutions have registered for the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate programs (CUET UG) 2024. The registration process for CUET UG, which began on February 28, has seen enthusiastic participation from across the country.
As per the latest data shared by Chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, a total of 46 Central Universities, 32 State Universities, and 20 Deemed-to-be-Universities have registered for CUET UG. Additionally, 98 Private Universities and 6 Government Institutions have also signed up to utilize CUET UG scores for their undergraduate admissions.
In a social media post, Chairman Kumar stated, ‘So far, 46 Central Universities, 32 State Universities, 20 Deemed-to-be-Universities, 98 Private Universities and 6 Government Institutions have registered for using CUET-UG scores for their admission in UG programmes. More are joining.’
The CUET UG 2024 registration process will continue until March 26, providing universities and institutions with ample time to enroll for this standardized entrance examination. Scheduled to take place on May 15 and 31, the CUET UG exams might see a change in dates due to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is prepared to adjust the exam schedule accordingly.
In a move to facilitate candidates, particularly those from rural areas, CUET UG 2024 will be conducted in a hybrid mode. This decision aims to ensure accessibility and convenience for all applicants, aligning with the goal of CUET to standardize the admission process for undergraduate programs across diverse institutions.
