Three IRS Officers Appointed as Principal Chief Commissioners of Income Tax

In a recent notification, three senior IRS officers have been appointed to the grade of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (CCIT) (level 17 in the pay matrix) for the panel year 2024. The officers—Purushottam Tripuri (IRS IT: 1989), Harshvardhini Buty (IRS IT: 1989), and Satish Sharma (IRS IT: 1990)—are to hold the positions in an in-situ capacity, retaining their current posts until further formal posting orders are issued.

Purushottam Tripuri and Harshvardhini Buty, both from the 1989 IRS batch, are expected to serve in their new capacities until they reach the superannuation age in March 2024 and July 2024, respectively. Meanwhile, Satish Sharma, a 1990-batch officer, will continue to serve until his retirement in August 2026.
