Senior Bureaucrat A P Das Joshi Takes Charge as Food Processing Industries Secretary

Senior IAS officer A P Das Joshi has been appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, according to an official order issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

Joshi, a 1994-batch IAS officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, is presently serving as the Additional Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

His appointment has been cleared by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet and was confirmed through an official order dated July 2.

He will take over from Sanjeev Chopra, Secretary of the Department of Food and Public Distribution, who has been holding the additional charge of the Food Processing Industries Ministry following the superannuation of former secretary Subrata Gupta on May 31 this year.
