The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Tuesday late evening effected a secretary-level reshuffle. Six IAS officers belonging to the 1993 batch were upgraded (in-situ) as Special Secretary in the rank and pay Secretary to the Govt of India.
Devesh Chaturvedi (IAS: 1989: UP) was appointed as Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. He replaces Manoj Ahuja (IAS: 1990: OD) who recently repatriated to Cadre as Chief Secretary, Government of Odisha. Further, Sandeep Pondrik (IAS: 1993: BH) was appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Steel. He replaces Nagendra Nath Sinha (IAS: 1987: JH) on his retirement on July 31, 2024.
The list of IAS officers (1993 batch) upgraded (in-situ) as Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary, Govt of India goes as follows:
Anurag Agarwal (IAS: 1990: PB) was appointed as Special Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of External Affairs.
Chandra Sekhar Kumar (IAS: 1992: OD) was appointed as Special Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
Punya Salila Srivastava (IAS: 1993: AGMUT) was appointed as Special Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office.
Tanmay Kumar (IAS: 1993: RJ) was appointed as Special Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change.
Amit Agrawal (IAS: 1993: CG) is now Chief Executive Officer, Unique Identification Authority of India in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
Deepti Gaur Mukerjee (IAS: 1993: MP) is now Chief Executive Officer, National Health Authority in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India by restoring the post to Secretary level.
