The Union Home Ministry has undertaken a substantial reshuffling of top administrative and police officials in Goa, resulting in the transfer of key personnel, including Secretary to Chief Minister Ajit Roy and prominent police officers Nidhin Valsan, Abhishek Dhania, and Aslam Khan.
As per the transfer orders issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, IAS Ajit Roy, who served as the Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been relocated to Mizoram. Simultaneously, the police department witnesses a notable overhaul with the transfer of North Goa Superintendent of Police Nidhin Valsan, South Goa Superintendent of Police Abhishek Dhania, and IPS Aslam Khan, all of whom are being moved to Delhi.
The replacements for these outgoing officers are IAS E Vellavan, IAS Ankit Yadav, and IPS Rohit Singh and Rahul Gupta. They are slated to assume their respective duties in Goa, bringing with them new perspectives and expertise to their roles.
The reasons behind these high-profile transfers remain undisclosed, adding an element of speculation among the state’s administrative and political circles. The decision by the Union Home Ministry is expected to place a renewed emphasis on administrative efficiency and law enforcement in Goa. These changes come at a crucial juncture as the state is actively involved in various developmental projects and is grappling with law and order issues.
The transferred officers are anticipated to take charge of their new responsibilities in the coming days, while the incoming officials are likely to undergo a period of acclimatization as they step into key roles within the state administration and police force. The developments have sparked interest and discussions, with stakeholders closely watching for the impact of these changes on Goa’s governance landscape.
