Bureaucratic Reshuffle in Gujarat Government Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections

Gujarat government has executed a reshuffling of 50 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, a move strategically timed before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The State General Administration Department issued an official order on January 30 outlining the changes.

Among the notable alterations, B. A. Shah, who held the position of Collector in Jamnagar district, will now take charge as the Collector of Vadodara district. A. B. Gor, the former Vadodara Collector, is set to assume the role of Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Chief Minister’s Office in Gandhinagar.

Aayush Oak, the outgoing Collector of Surat, has been reassigned as the Collector of Valsad, while Sourabh Pardhi, currently serving as the managing director of the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited, will now helm Surat as its new Collector. G. T. Pandya, the Collector of Morbi district, has been appointed as the Collector of Devbhumi Dwarka district.

Amit Prakash Yadav, former Collector of Navsari, will now take on the responsibilities of the Collector of Kheda district, and K. L. Bachani, the ex-director of information in Gandhinagar, will serve as the director of Navsari. Kshipra Agre, the Collector of Valsad, has been designated as the new Collector of Navsari.

H.K. Vadhvaniya, the former Collector of Gir-Somnath, will assume the role of additional secretary in the Health and Family Welfare Department in Gandhinagar. Stuti Charan, the Collector of Chhotaudepur district, has been appointed as the chief executive officer of the Water and Sanitation Management Organisation in Gandhinagar.

Nitin Sangwan, who was the Director of Fisheries in Gandhinagar, has been appointed as the new District Development Officer (DDO) of Junagadh. R. M. Tanna, the Junagadh municipal commissioner, will now serve as the DDO of Surendranagar, while Om Prakash, the former DDO of Mehsana, takes his place.

Yogesh Nirgude, previously the Joint Secretary in the Home Department, has been named as the new Collector of Dahod district. Kiran Jhaveri, the additional commissioner of State tax in Ahmedabad, will now serve as the Collector of Morbi district.

Neha Kumari, the deputy municipal commissioner of Ahmedabad, has been reassigned as the new Collector of Mahisagar district, and D. D. Jadeja, the Morbi DDO, has been appointed as the Collector of Gir-Somnath district.
