Administrative Reshuffle: Punjab Government Announces Transfer of IAS and PCS Officers

In a recent administrative overhaul, the Punjab government announced the transfer of four IAS (Indian Administrative Service) and 44 PCS (Punjab Civil Service) officers, reassigning key responsibilities to officials across various districts. The reshuffle, effective immediately, aims to optimize administrative efficiency and enhance governance at the grassroots level.

IAS Officer Transfers

Nitesh Kumar Jain is posted as the Sardulgarh’s Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM); Simrandeep Singh has been appointed as the Tarn Taran SDM; Aparna MB has been assigned as the SDM of Malerkotla and Akshita Gupta has taken charge as the SBS Nagar’s SDM.

PCS Officer Transfers

PCS officer Nayan has assumed the position of additional deputy commissioner (general) in Muktsar; Lovepreet Kalsi has been appointed as the additional chief administrator of the Bathinda Development Authority along with ADC (rural) of Bathinda; Amit Mahajan took charge as the secretary, Jalandhar RTA, in addition to ADC (general) in Jalandhar; Varinderpal Singh Bajwa has assumed role of the ADC(rural development) with additional charge of the ADC (general) Tarn Taran, Navneet Kaur Bal as the joint commissioner, Ludhiana municipal corporation; Jashanpreet Kaur as the additional chief administrator of the Patiala Development Authority; Manjit Singh Cheema as the ADC (rural development), Fazilka.

Notable among the transfers include the appointment of Poonam Singh as Secretary, Bathinda RTA, with additional responsibilities as ADC (General) in Bathinda. Other officers include Kala Ram Kansal as the Dhar Kalan SDM, Jai Inder Singh as Jalandhar-1 SDM, Gursimran Singh Dhillon as Nakodar SDM, Harkirat Kaur Cheema as Rupnagar SDM, and Ankur Mohindroo as GMADA Estate Officer, among others.

This strategic reshuffling of administrative roles is aimed at optimizing the skill sets of officers to meet the diverse and evolving needs of their respective districts. The government remains committed to effective governance, ensuring that officers are placed in roles that align with their expertise and contribute to the overall development of the state.
