All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced two supernumerary seats for gifted and talented students. Through this initiative, innovative minds will take pride in their achievement and pursue mainstream education. Irrespective of what they have scored in board exams and competitive exams, these highly talented students can seek a seat in reputed universities/colleges, wherein a stimulating learning environment will be provided for them for their holistic learning.

The eligibility criteria have been set for these potential learners. A candidate who has either published an original research paper, won national/international level awards, winner of hackathons, holds the patent, has registered a startup (as per DPIIT norms) or owner of apps on Google, Apple, or Windows stores will be picked by the college based on the statement of purpose and three letters of recommendations. The documents will be scrutinized and the candidate will also have to appear for the interviews in front of a panel of experts formed by the respective institution.
The complete tuition fees of the selected student will be waived off. However, the student has to bear fees for examination, library, laboratory, hostel, and transportation.
